Terms of Use
Last updated: October 29, 2026
These Terms of Use govern your use of Contagua: the mobile app, the web portal at contagua.app and the AI assistant connectors (the “Service”). The Service is operated by Exomoon Labs, based in Mexico City (“Contagua”, “we” or “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Spanish version (Términos de Uso) prevails if the two differ.
1. The Service
Contagua monitors water use in residential buildings from their meters’ readings. It lets building management review usage, detect suspected leaks and communicate with residents, and lets residents review their own apartment’s usage. The Service for a building is contracted by its organization or management; residents get access once management approves their request.
2. Accounts
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
- Administrator access is assigned by the organization that contracts the Service; resident access is approved by the building’s management. Each person sees only what their access allows.
3. Acceptable Use
When using the Service, you agree not to:
- try to access information about buildings, apartments or accounts that are not yours;
- interfere with the Service’s operation or security, or overload it with automated requests;
- copy, decompile or reverse-engineer the software, except where the law allows it;
- use the Service unlawfully or to harm the rights of others.
4. Usage Data and Alerts
- Usage data comes from meters and their reading systems. It may arrive late, contain errors or have missing days.
- Leak detection is an estimate based on usage patterns. It does not guarantee that every leak is detected, and an alert does not confirm that a leak exists. If you suspect a leak, have it checked in person or by a professional.
- Contagua does not replace the water utility’s official billing or measurements, and it is not an emergency service.
5. AI Assistant Connectors
You can connect your account to third-party AI assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT. This is optional. The assistant reads Contagua with your own permissions and operates under its provider’s terms. Answers are generated by the assistant and may contain mistakes; confirm important figures in Contagua. Data handling is described in section 4 of the Privacy Policy.
6. Contracts and Payment
The commercial terms of the Service for a building or organization (scope, price, term and billing) are set in the corresponding contract or license, which prevails over these Terms on those matters. Residents do not pay to use the Service unless expressly stated otherwise.
7. Intellectual Property and Data
Contagua’s software, brand and content belong to Exomoon Labs. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service under these Terms. Each building’s usage data belongs to its organization and users; we use it only to provide the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Availability and Changes to the Service
We aim to keep the Service available at all times, but it may be interrupted for maintenance, failures or causes beyond our control. We may change, add or remove features; when a change materially affects a contracted Service, we will give reasonable notice.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and Contagua is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for water loss or damage resulting from undetected leaks, incorrect or incomplete usage data, or decisions made based on the Service or on AI assistant answers. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
10. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms or puts the Service’s security at risk. You may stop using the Service at any time and request deletion of your account as described in the Privacy Policy. Access for a building’s users ends if its organization stops contracting the Service.
11. Privacy
Your personal data is handled under our Privacy Policy.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States. Any dispute is submitted to the competent courts of Mexico City, without prejudice to the rights the law gives consumers.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
